South Padre Island quite simply is the destination of choice for your wedding.
Surround yourselves in an atmosphere of tropical tranquility and breathtaking
beauty as you pledge your eternal love. What is your idea of the romance this
special occasion deserves? How high are your expectations for this special day,
which should be nothing less than glorious?
Spectacular sand dunes covered in native vine and flowers and a spectacular
coastline along the Gulf of Mexico are perfect for romantic, barefoot weddings
on a beautiful beach. If your dream wedding involves a sunset, several settings
along the bay provide the perfect setting when the sun simmers into the vast and
beautiful Laguna Madre Bay at the end of a beautiful day. For
the more adventuresome person, rent anything from a fishing boat to a large
catamaran and say those special vows while cruising on the beautiful Laguna
Madre Bay. And how appropriate will it be when the moment arrives, and the most
important words you will speak in your life – your wedding vows – will be
carried from your lips to your loved one on a gentle warm breeze.
Best of all, the requirements for getting married on South Padre Island are
relatively simple and uncomplicated. Both religious and civil ceremonies can be
performed at virtually any location on the Island.

have a no-fee permit. Anyone can pickup the permit, but it must be done in

helps ensure your wedding does not restrict the use of the beach to others,
and provides you with state and local beach rules and laws. For ceremonies
held on beaches within the Town of South Padre Island, contact Public Works
